Leonora Christina
(1621-1689) beloved daughter of King Christian IV, the renowned Danish King and Denmarks greatest builder, stayed in the Convent of Maribo for the last 13 years of her life.
She became well-known for the descriptions of her long and involuntary imprisonment in the Blåtårn in Copenhagen, as she was being punished for her rebellion against King Frederik III and his wife. The earthly remains of Leonora Christina are kept in the Cathedral in Maribo.
